An excellent thought to start the year off

Many times those of us in the Beauty Industry find ourselves in the position of therapists. After seeing and speaking to so many people over the years we start to form our own little philosophies about life. We all do it.

I have a few people that really inspire me and one of them is this incredible  airbrush artist, Amy Young, and when I say artist I mean it in the highest regard. She is also a very spiritual person and she shares her thoughts and the thoughts of others from time to time and today she posted something that I thought would be a great thing to share here. To see Amy's work check her out here on Facebook

After awhile, you learn the subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining a soul. You learn love doesn't mean leaning, and company doesn't mean security. You begin to learn that kisses aren't contracts and presents aren't promises; you begin to accept your defeats with your head up and your eyes open, with the grace of an adult and not the grief of a child. You learn to build all your roads on today because tomorrow's ground is too uncertain for plans and futures have a way of falling down in midflight.
After a while, you learn that sunshine burns if you get too much.
So plant your own garden and decorate your own soul, instead of waiting for someone to bring you flowers. You learn that you really can endure. That you really are strong, and you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn.
With every goodbye, you learn.

I think this statement , if put into practice, will do something to the inside of you that will in turn do something to the outside of you. There is something about having an internal peace that can really effect the way you look to other people. It gives you confidence and lightness. In this world, that is something we all need more of.

May you all take a little something from this to make you stronger in 2012.

Love and Happy Hair days!
